The Priory
The Priory is situated in Little Wymondley, near Hitchin in Hertfordshire. With the picturesque scenery, this is a spectacular wedding venue allowing couples to thoroughly enjoy their day. The Priory was founded in 1203 by a Norman knight, but the Priory barn was actually constructed in 1541 by James Needham who was the King’s carpenter. The barn is 100 feet long which has 9 bays on either side. The Priory is a well established wedding venue, where the atmosphere allows you to experience a relaxed and informal wedding reception. Set menus are not available, as each menu is customised to suit your particular requirements. Our chef has much experience with regards to catering, and has a number of signature dishes.
The Tithe Barn is a magnificent Tudor building within the grounds of Wymoudley Priory. It was built in 1541 by James Needham Henry Vill’s guaranteed by The Priory’s Policy of week accepting more than one wedding at a time the barn is licensed for civil ceremonies, The Barn can accommodate 150 for dining and dancing.
The Priory’s historic barn is located in extensive grounds with an ancient moat on two sides. During the spring and summer seasons outside furniture is supplied for guests to enjoy reception drinks and canapes on the landscaped lawns. The picture-perfect setting extends around the barn which offers ample space for garden games, which have become a popular wedding feature in recent years.
