We at Bovehay Down are offering a fully licensed venue for your wedding or civil ceremony in the heart of East Devon’s area of outstanding natural beauty. With far reaching picturesque views of the Coly Valley, we provide the most unique of sites in the tranquillity of the Devonian countryside to hold your ceremony. We are here to help provide you with everything you will need to make sure your big day goes just as smoothly, and as perfect as you dreamed it would be.
With our quaint Woodland Pavilion for ceremonies, and our onsite function room and catering service for your reception – Why would you go anywhere else for your wedding day!!!
Our wooden pavilion is set in small area of lush woodland, only a stone’s throw away from our indoor barn and commercial kitchen. It blends in with it’s surroundings and is beautifully presented with rustic seating for your guests, a lovely woodland bridge and bunting hanging from the trees. The pavilion itself has ample room for your ceremony and to hold some guests for some photos. There is also a small car parking area where your future spouse can arrive, and then walk the short distance down a carefully woven path to meet you at the pavilion. The backdrop for this venue setting will give you and your guests the best photo opportunities!
We are fully licensed to perform both marriages and civil partnership ceremonies.
Only a short distance from the Woodland Venue, the Swallow’s Rest barn is the perfect place to hold your reception. We have the space for all your guests, as well as all the usual facilities like tables, seating, a dancing area as well as an onsite bar. Our experienced catering team can supply everything you will need from a simple buffet to a four course meal or even a hog-roast if that is what you desire!
